I applied not through the common application, but throughApr 08 2004Public Health
I applied not through the common application, but through the application provided on their web site. I took the SATs and 3 SAT IIs (though I don't think they're required), and sent in an essay. I would recommend that any interested student visits for more than 2 days, and possibly more than one time- the weather is great in the fall and spring (which hasn't yet started- it's April), but the campus is completely different in winter.

Getting in here is simple enough- 90 avg and 1300Jan 21 2004Political Science
Getting in here is simple enough- 90 avg and 1300. This is a big-time Ivy applicant safety school. The Cornell, Columbia etc. rejects end up here in large numbers, which means that the school has to account for the fact that the vast majority of the stand-out candidates will go somewhere else (better). They do this by admitting just about left and right, provided you fulfill the above criteria. If you don't, but really really like snow and stale subs, all is not lost. Have a strong SAT or be a minority- either of those will help overcome a weak high school avg.
SAT: 1420 Male
I got into this school by getting a goodDec 30 2003Political Science
I got into this school by getting a good SAT score. Less preference was put upon high school grades. Most students I've talked to were this way. In my opinion, high SATs and lower school grades are a good sign of unmotivated SLACKERS, the majority of which were not involved in extracurriculars. Case in point - my freshman class had the highest SAT scores in school history and the worst first semester GPA. The school also doesn't interview its applicants. This allows a lot of comple weirdos into the school. Ever seen Rainman? I know about a dozen kids like Dustin Hoffman's character. The school should have an interview process to weed out losers who drain the student body of morale and character.
SAT: 1400 Male
I went to a non-boarding prep schoolApr 28 2003Computer Science
I went to a non-boarding prep school. I took the most challenging courses, and did "okay." I was always an enthusiastic student yet my work ethic was just plain bad. I did fairly well on my SATs. I did not apply early decision.
SAT: 1410 Male
Do well on yourMar 06 2003Art & Design Department
do well on your SATs, you get 10,000 a year if you get above a 1350. had i known that, i would have retaken the SAts
